What is it?
The Driveway Patrol is a Passive Infra-Red (PIR) motion detector that scans an area 20 degrees wide and 30 feet in front of it. That is an area large enough to encompass most residential driveways. So, when a visitor, whether wanted or unwanted, approaches on foot or in a vehicle the motion-detecting sensor unit sends a signal to the receiver which chimes to let you know there is activity outside. You can place the receiver up to 400 FEET away, which means you can put it pretty much anywhere in your home that you want.
Each unit requires three C-cell batteries for the receiver and one 9-volt battery for the transmitting sensor. Sorry, batteries are not included, but batteries are available on our site. The sensor is housed in weather-resistant plastic, and can be installed with a screw on any surface like your mailbox, garage, or even your door.
