Released in 1942, The Battle of Midway by director John Ford won an Academy Award for Best Documentary. Thunderbolts by William Wyler covers the activities of the 12th Army Air Forces in Europe in 1944 and 45, and The Memphis Belle, also by Wyler, follows the final mission of the famous B-17 bomber and her crew.

With the Marines at Tarawa features amazing combat footage taken by Marine Corps cameramen, and Challenge to Democracy documents the internment of thousands of Japanese-Americans.

All of these authentic films display extraordinary color images and historical newsreel footage, most of it never before seen by the American public.

Great DVD of a show that was on the History Channel
This is a DVD covering a multi section of a show that the History Channel covered over a number of 30 minute segments, great show and a good price.

If you are interested in WWII this is a pretty good DVD and in color.
